Best Kabb Build in Star Wars Zero Company
Build Kabb for aggressive frontline melee combat in Star Wars Zero Company, chaining AP refunds via Uppercut, breaching cover, and surviving deep advances.
On this page6 sections
Kabb is Star Wars Zero Company's preeminent shock operative. While other squad members rely on sightlines and ranged trades, Kabb thrives by closing distance, shattering enemy cover, and turning eliminations into kinetic momentum. Built correctly, Kabb transforms from a high-risk brawler into an unstoppable room-clearing engine.
Core combat philosophy: The AP refund loop
The foundation of any successful Kabb build is exploiting his signature Uppercut momentum. Unlike typical attacks that end a character's offensive options, Kabb can earn back spent action points upon confirming a kill.
[Positioning] -> 1 AP Dash to melee contact with a softened target
↓
[Execution] -> 2 AP Uppercut (Kill confirmed!)
↓
[Refund] -> +1 AP Refunded automatically
↓
[Reposition] -> 1 AP Slip back into Full Cover or strike a second adjacent enemy
This dynamic makes Kabb the premier finisher in your squad. Pair him with allies who can weaken droids or Infinite Coil infantry beforehand so Kabb enters the fray only to execute and chain.
Recommended talent priority
| Tier | Talent | Effect | Tactical Value |
|---|---|---|---|
| Tier 1 | Heavy Impact | Increases kinetic melee damage and adds 2-tile knockback | Triggers wall impact damage; knocks targets into allied firing lanes |
| Tier 2 | Uppercut Momentum | Grants +1 AP refund when Uppercut eliminates a hostile unit | Core build engine; allows multiple offensive actions in a single turn |
| Tier 3 | Breaching Rush | Melee dash ignores -50% of the target's cover defense | Eliminates the need to flank around low barricades before striking |
| Tier 4 | Kinetic Barrier | Securing a melee elimination grants a temporary shielding buffer | Essential survivability; prevents retaliation when caught deep in enemy lines |
Loadout and secondary specializations
- Primary Weapon: High-impact close-range Blaster Pistol or Scattergun. Range falloff does not penalize Kabb since all engagements happen within three tiles.
- Armor & Utilities: Heavy Reactive Plates and Adrenaline Stims. Never deploy Kabb without an emergency medical charge.
- Secondary Specialization - Heavy vs. Scoundrel:
- Heavy Secondary (Recommended for Beskar Mode): Grants extra health pools and explosion resistance, ensuring Kabb survives return fire if a kill falls 1 HP short.
- Scoundrel Secondary (High-Damage Variant): Drastically boosts point-blank critical strike chance, ensuring Uppercut consistently secures the fatal blow.
Squad synergy partners
- Tel-Rea Vokoss: Tel-Rea's Force Pull is Kabb's greatest enabler. Rather than wasting 2 AP sprinting toward distant snipers, have Tel-Rea yank the high-value target into Kabb's melee reach.
- M-3VO / Astromech: M-3VO can transfer battery charge, giving Kabb 4 total AP on decisive breach turns.
- Trick: Trick lays down Suppressive Fire to keep flanking droids pinned while Kabb clears out the central bunker.
Patch 1.1 balance verification
Patch 1.1 resolved a collision bug where Uppercut knockback against angled barricades failed to calculate secondary impact damage. Wall collisions now reliably apply kinetic damage formulas across all terrain types.
