For a reliable Star Wars Zero Company Luco Bronc build, keep Sharpshooter, improve Combat Gas and add Scoundrel for a later damage-and-assist role. Set up his firing lane before spending AP on accuracy preparation. Luco is most useful when he can remove a dangerous enemy that your short-range Operators cannot reach safely.

Combat Gas: why attack count matters

The extracted Combat Gas record reports 3 / 4 / 5 / 6 Sharpened Senses stacks across its four ranks. Each stack adds 5 percentage points to hit chance and 1 ranged damage; one stack is consumed after each ranged attack. Its listed activation cost is 2 Advantage, once per combat, in build 25513890.

At five stacks, the initial listed bonuses total 25 percentage points and 5 ranged damage before other modifiers. After one ranged attack, four stacks remain. That is a planning calculation from the recorded effect, not a promise of a particular final hit chance: use Shot Breakdown to see how the current target and weapon modify the result.

Scoundrel is the pairing recommended in Epic's Operator guide. Choose Scout instead only when it repairs a recurring squad problem.

A firing sequence you can adapt

  1. Choose a covered position with a line to the priority target and a route to the next objective.
  2. Check whether movement changes your shot cost or available AP. Keep enough for the attack you intend to take.
  3. Activate Combat Gas when you will use its remaining stacks on valuable shots, rather than spending them on incidental cleanup.
  4. Use Zero In when the position is worth holding. Moving after a stationary setup wastes the point of preparing that lane.
  5. Fire at the target whose survival would most damage your next turn. Use Overwatch only after completing movement and other planned actions.

Equipment and target selection

Match Mods to the preview you actually see. Accuracy is valuable when a long-range shot repeatedly falls short; damage is valuable when it crosses a kill threshold. A Utility can provide a backup action when a weapon shot is unaffordable or the lane is blocked.

Tel-Rea can expose a covered target. Jae lets the squad finish a target without asking Luco to spend another major shot. Cly also needs Advantage, so agree on the pool's next use before choosing either Operator's ability.

When to rotate Luco out

A map that repeatedly breaks sightlines or requires frequent objective interactions can waste a stationary marksman's setup. Consider a mobile Assault or Gunslinger for that mission. An injured Luco should also have a replacement: the Best Squad guide shows how to preserve the squad's jobs when a named Operator is unavailable.
