The Star Wars Zero Company PC Hotfix released September 28, 2026 fixes a crash issue affecting various PC hardware configurations. Install the current PC update before troubleshooting an old crash. EA's developer announcement describes a stability fix; it does not list new balance changes or name the update Patch 1.2.
What changed, and what to do
| Your situation | Action | What this establishes |
|---|---|---|
| You have not updated since before September 28 | Let your launcher finish the current update, then restart the game | Your next test includes the announced PC crash correction |
| A previous crash no longer reproduces | Continue from a protected save and watch the same trigger | The update may have resolved your case; it does not identify its cause |
| The same crash continues after updating | Verify files, test without mods or overlays, and record the trigger | A useful report of the remaining failure |
| You are looking for console changes | Read the platform-specific update record | This announcement is explicitly a PC Hotfix |

Check that the update has finished
Close the running game, open its launcher and let pending downloads finish. Check that the launcher is online and that no download, install or repair job remains queued. Relaunch afterward. Use the version displayed by your installation in a support report; an announcement date alone does not prove that your local files are current.
If the launcher keeps repairing the same files, investigate storage space and quarantined files before repeating downloads indefinitely. Back up saves before changing files or testing a modified installation.
If it still crashes
Start with the PC crash troubleshooting guide. Change one variable at a time and retry the same mission or action. Record the store, game version, GPU, driver, mission and last action, plus whether the failure occurs without mods. A repeatable crash at one objective is more useful to investigate than βsometimes crashes.β
Keep the most recent working save while testing. Avoid treating reduced graphics settings as proof that the Hotfix failed or that a campaign is corrupted.
How it relates to Patch 1.1
Patch 1.1, published September 9, has the broader tactical, weapon, save and facility corrections. The September 28 PC announcement adds a later crash fix. Its short scope gives no basis to rewrite Operator damage or claim that an ability was rebalanced.
For the broader change list, read EAβs official Patch 1.1 notes.
